Saw it over the weekend, and I was very impressed. They updated the origin story to make it more current, but the characters were spot-on. Yes, I'm a former comic book geek!

Just got back from seeing this. Pretty fucking awesome! I think it's a safe bet there will be a sequel - without having to spend time on the origin, it should be even better.

I saw it this weekend as well and it surpassed my expectations. Even my wife enjoyed it and she was only reluctantly watching it with me. I was apalled at how much we paid to see it, though, so:

Apparently they already thought of a sequel. I haven't seen the movie but if you stay through the credits there is some bonus footage that people are saying is all about a sequel.

Yeah, I left too early and missed it. From what I hear, it's Nick Fury talking to Iron Man about joining the Avengers. Could be for a sequel, or could be an Avengers movie.
