Help!
How do I rip and burn software i need to make a copy of a dvd for my bro for Christmas. Help me please

just do an exact copy of the disc??? There's surely something in the software thread capable of doing it...let me do some digging and see if I can't find one.

I know there's software that will allow you to rip specific video files off of the DVD, but that's kind of an annoying route to take. You have to rip it, then convert it, then re-burn it. Can be costly in time consumption. I'm sure someone has a proper answer. You could always just download whatever movie it is you're trying to make a copy of and burn it to a DVD that way?

If this is a movie.. your best (easiest) bet is to get Ripit4me.. you will need to download both DVD decrypter and DVD shrink ripit4me Code:

The not so free way, if you know how to use torrents is to get ANYDVD and Clone2DVD This is by far the easyest solution... but like I said, not free.. and requires torrent knowledge. Code:

So, for the ripit4me part.. when you get all of them installed.. within ripit4me there is a 1 click option.. it is as it says, one click.. click it, it will load up ripit4me's menu, then go into DVD Decrypter.. if you are using a 2 burners or a burner and a reader (2 seperate drives) then make sure you load the blank media in the burner before you start this process.. with the disc you want to copy in the reader.. if you are using the same drive for both read and write then just make sure you have the original in there.. anyways.. once it has started, sometimes when it gets to the DVD Decrypter part it wants you to click the button in the bottom left.. i think it says start or decrypt or something.. it starts the process.. If it makes it small enough it will just burn it, otherwise, it will load DVD shrink.. at this point all you have to do is click backup (within dvd shrink) and it will compress, reauthor and burn to the blank. ok! having fun yet? Now, if you get the clone 2 dvd and anydvd one.. its very simple.. make sure anydvd is running.. load up clone2dvd and select the copy option.. thats it. there are *alot* of other options.. you can get anydvd and just use nero or any other burning tool as well.. I just use the free version of dvdfab to copy the disk and to remove all of the protections. Have it save as an iso file.
Then use dvd shrink to make it fit on a single layer disc. Read the documentation about the quality settings. Then just burn with imgburn. |

When I've needed to make backups of my DVDs, I use Slysoft's Pack of tools. Includes AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, plus some others. It'll do 1-to-1 copies of every DVD I have from years ago to just a few months ago.

There is a copy of ANYDVD in the Appl Thread, but it's down right now. Ask Binary if he can re-load it for you.

You could use DVD Decrypter, then shrink or get rid unncessary VOB and other files like foreign translations, movie previews, extras, and burn the more important vid files with DVD Shrink both are freeware.
