The way the media is choosing to cover this trial is killing me. Everything I see is angled with Zimmerman as a overzealous neighborhood commando and Martin as an innocent kid. As much as I hate the overbearing super-right vs. super-left political news coverage, this is so much worse.

My main problem is the fervor the coverage is stirring up. If Zimmerman is acquitted it's going to be billed as another murderer going free in Florida. The biggest problem this time is the racial undertones, since evidently the whites took Zimmerman in the racial draft.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make a pro-Zimmerman argument here. The evidence so far seems to support his story, but I'm interested to see how the trial plays out.

One thing that I find interesting is the "missing two minutes" between the time Zimmerman hung up with 911 and the first witness called 911. Obviously, this is when things escalated. Everything I've seen so far has presented the witness calling 911 as the beginning of the conflict, which isn't logical. I find the missing two minutes way less controversial than it's being presented.

(Sorry for bumping the old thread. Mostly rambling because I don't have anywhere else to talk/rant about it.)

Just like OrweilianBAMA, Zimmerman is biracial. For those that choose to ignore the other side, how do you do that? Much easier to deal with the person. Assholes and Saints come in all configurations.
