I am not quite sure why a regular Joe Blow would convince himself he has the right to surveil, detain, question and convict anybody he sees fit in these United States of America. We pay taxes for people to do that shit for us. But, so be it - you will probably be ok doing so most of the time but under the right circumstances you could run the risk of taking home an ass whoopin' or a murder charge. Choose the ass whoopin'.

I admit to being incredibly biased. I was young and impressionable during this crap. You should hear the testimony of the ones that got away. Sounds eerily like Mr. Zimmerman approaching Trayvon. My mom was career teacher and my Dad, the last person I can think of who should have been in the pulpit of somebody's church preaching. Clarification, my Dad is a great Dad but his place in church is in the congregation, if at all. My parents told me that if ever in that situation, Fight! ...because if you don't, you may not make it home. I guess under these circumstances they may be wrong. I won't be trading them in though, I like 'em.

Yet, another reach on your part. Didn't compare Zim to a serial killer. I think he was scared and pulled out his Smith & Wesson courage. What you should have been able to take away is that an individual's reactions to situations are probably based on more than you care to take into consideration. Regardless,Trayvon didn't know who the hell he was and at night by yourself being followed, assume the worst. What do we tell our daughters? I personally think he should have ran. That punk move would have saved his life and his mother a lot of pain.

He was not outside of the law walking home from the store. But life fucks with our so called rights. On the news it was recently reported that a woman had every right to cross the street in the crosswalk before the city bus hit her. She is rightly dead.

I don't get this idea, that is someone gets out of a car to talk to me, I am supposed to kick their ass. It doesn't make sense.

If all he did was get out of the car and talk, he would not be facing trial. He pursued and was perceived as a threat. They have this misapplied law around here called Terroristic Threats - If you tell someone you are going to whoop 'em and they believe it and feel threatened, you are facing 5 years. You would get less by going ahead and popping said individual in the mouth yielding an assault & battery charge.
