I don't host much. I use it mainly for downloading, which is already fucked with their 2.5GB per day limit. If you want more you gotta pay $10 more dollars for an extra 100GB of traffic share to dip into. That's fucking gay.
But hey, damn near everyone on the planet uses rapidshare, until someone comes up with a better service that more people will use, I'm gonna keep on using it, solely because there's no better option

You can't delete after carbonite backs your files up though. I don't remember if it's one or two weeks but when carbonite checks again for the files and they're not on your HD, it gets removed from your backup file.
I have been preaching Carbonite for the last couple months on DSF because it's perfect if your personal computer shits the bed but it is NOT an external HD.

Why not get a blueray burner and back them up on that? Or a DVD burner and use multiple disks? Then you don't have to worry about any online host going under or deciding that they're going to release the contents of your space to the RIAA/MPAA.

If RS were to fold, I would not lose one file. I have TB drives with space to spare. The rub for me is that my RS accounts are paid premium accounts. When it is time to renew, they send an email saying how many files you have and that they will be lost 14 days after the date you are supposed to pay. Now, it's just pay up with no file security. Granted, I haven't paid in while because of you guys.

Dear Customer,
we hereby inform you of a modification regarding the file inactivity regulations for Collector's accounts. The guaranteed storage time of a file after the last download (or after the upload, if a file has never been downloaded) will be lowered to 60 days on January 1st, 2010.
Please note that Premium accounts whose files use more than 50 GB of storage are subject to the same storage rules as Collector's accounts.
If you do not agree to the Terms of Use, you are entitled to cancel the contractual relationship within a time limit of four weeks as of receipt of this notification. Should you not make use of your right of cancellation, the alterations are presumed to be accepted and become an effective integral part of the contract.

I'm kinda diggin' Megaupload since I followed GF there.
Down speeds are definitely better.
Up speed still sucks.
Don't like that I can't see the file name in the link.
Point rewards don't look great, but none of this storage shit that I can see.
Damn asians beating the krauts again by knocking off their shit.
