My problem with politicians doing things like this is it speaks to their character and mentality. I don't care that he might have hurt his wife and family, that truly is between them and not me. I care that he's lied to voters and expects us to just say "oh, that's ok, you're normal too". ??!?!?! This crap shouldn't be considered normal.

Our leaders should either be good enough to not do bad things or "good" enough to keep anyone from ever finding out. If they can't keep these kind of secrets, why should I trust them with something that will affect my life? Oh, and there's a world of difference between "thinking about doing something" and actually doing it.

I guess it comes down to I don't trust people in power who think they're above our judgment and have no problems about violating the things they speak out against.

You have to wonder how many other times he's cheated.

A note on the other side, maybe his wife understood his needs and gave him permission. If that's the case, fine for them. But he still tried to hide it from voters and people who put him where he's at because of "what he stands for".

So what, good he got laid. What about the chick he cheated with? He didn't rape her, and she obviously knew he was married.
Dude proved to be a human being with faults.
My ex-wife had cancer, and I went through the whole thing with her.
It sucked and it was really hard. I didn't cheat on her, but I understand why you would, or at least want to.
If you haven't been through cancer with someone, you just don't know what it's like.

You know Stromm you mention two things in your post that caught my attention! One was the reference to my post in regards to people thinking about it and people actually acting on impulses. According to some people it is the same thing and if they are then I have in the words of Jimmy Carter "had lust in my heart" and we all have. Is there a difference? I guess it depends on the person you are in the relationship with since some women will say yes and others will simple say no, but either way if you need permission to look and have to clear it with someone else.....your fucked anyway! As for the hiding it better? I would rather have a politician getting sucked of by busloads of midgets then lie to us. I know it happens and like so many things we have seen in the last few years of politics (from both sides) I think honesty would be accepted and appreciated. Honestly if some politician was getting blown telling us the truth I think we would be so distracted by the blow job we would give a shit less about what they were actually saying.
And the the third and final thought why is it so unaccepted here when more functional governments than our own knows it happens but turns the other way when those elected leaders are getting shit done? I would again prefer someone getting blown and fixing the economy, education, healthcare while doing it...if I knew people were getting what they need I would just say good job Mr. Politician and make sure you make her cup the balls!

yeah i...am sorta late to the raging convo of the day, but my take is, yeah it sucks, and yeah its fucked up...but at the end of the day, people lie all the time.

right now, both major candidates are lying to us with empty promises.

so what if edwards lied about cheating on his wife? hate him because its immoral, hate him because he was a candidate for the dem nom...but let's not forget, his lie isn't ruining the lives of millions of americans who have friends and family in iraq.

i watched a documentary on espn in the spring about a 19-yr old kid who coached little league soccer in america and enlisted in the army and ended up teaching iraqi children how to play soccer and on his SECOND tour of duty (both were within weeks of the other) he took some soccer balls from america to iraq...and he was killed by a roadside bomb.

usually, i just read these stories, feel bad, and continue on with life, like, im sure most of you...but this time, i just screamed as loud as possible, so frustrated...it pissed me off so much to see his parents both lament their son's death. I mean, really, how fucked up is it that soldiers as young as 18 are dying everyday because of a PRESIDENT'S LIE????

That's what I think we should be talking about in this thread called "Dick Move".


ps. this isnt an edit, but i do want to sorta apologize for making this all about bashing bush and the war, but i just think that the edwards thing is sorta blown out of proportion, esp compared to the war and the lies this administration has fed us since 2000.
