...Superman announces that he is going to give up his U.S. citizenship. Despite very literally being an alien immigrant, Superman has long been seen as a patriotic symbol of "truth, justice, and the American way," from his embrace of traditional American ideals to the iconic red and blue of his costume. What it means to stand for the "American way" is an increasingly complicated thing, however, both in the real world and in superhero comics, whose storylines have increasingly seemed to mirror current events and deal with moral and political complexities rather than simple black and white morality.

I'm sick and fucking tired of all this "it's bad to be American" bullshit. Why the fuck does everyone in fucking America want to be BLANK-American? If your that fed up with being American, leave the fucking county and let people who actually give a shit about it have it back!

Not that I care about Superman but the point of renouncing is he can go to other countries without it being seen as an act of war because he seen to represent American foreign policy or something similar

The thing that reportedly set superman off was that he was in Iran while they were protesting the Mullah's but America did nothing and allowed thousands to be killed. It's Obama's fault so I agree with Superman.
Does he even legally have American citizenship? He crashed here illegally and was harbored by Ma and Pa Kent in Kansas, then moved to the big city with his pseudonym... I don't think he's really a citizen, but you better have a hell of an ICE strikeforce to kick him out.
