Nothing to compare with the stories of the guys in the service - stabbed by a Somali - parachute injury - fell off a building - took a bullet - all that makes the motorcycle injuries and whatnot sound pretty tame. I did wreck a bike doing about 35 or so when a car in front of me slammed on the brakes and I was following too close. This was pre-helmet laws. I have no memory of the accident or the next few days, but from what I can gather from the injuries, I laid the bike down in the turn lane and must have tucked and rolled since my right shoulder was separated, I had road rash on the right shoulder blade (wearing great safety gear - shorts and a tank top) and a pretty good concussion on the right side of the back of my head. Was in and out of it for a week or so and my right arm was in a sling for the entire summer, and every time I moved or twitched in my sleep the bones in my shoulder would grind together. Still can't throw a baseball or football worth a damn.
