Default Webhosting file directory question..
Alright, I use bluehost.com for my web hosting. Now you guys know when you browse a directory that has files and folders in it on the web.. for example. madmusic.com/music/ .... and you would see a list of albums folders, mp3's maybe pictures of .txt files and such or whatever. Now my question is my host changed how the directory looks so now I cant sort by last date modified or sort by name etc. I e-mailed them about this and they said they never even realized they changed the settings. Is there a plugin or im not sure what you would call it that i can upload to the directory that will allow people to see last modified date, and all that junk? Hope I explained all of this ok.

Not quite sure if i get the question but i use Hostpapa, they supply loads of software to organize your files as you wish. What may work for you is a free program called FileZilla. Its used for uploading and downloading files to you site. You can also just browse directories too and organize them by date last modified.

i mean so anyone that uses their browser to look at the directory see's the last date modified heading. I think it has something to do with an apache whatever script code but not to sure of how it all works.

It's not an install. It is a directive that needs to be added to your httpd.conf file. It is a global directive that tells the server on a whole how to behave.

Is there a command to allow lowercase and uppercase to be identical???
Example, mywebsite.com/pic.jpg IS different from PIC.JPG and will return a 404 error...

Thank you.
And so I don't ask more questions of you... Yet... Is there a command list you can point me to that covers those conf entries.
