when i was getting my back done i bought beer every time, so bout 20 sessions and a case or 24 each time, i guess that was my tip

i was 16 the first time i got a tattoo so idk that you were supposed to tip them but i paid like $1000 for 5 tattoos and one of them is really small the places were about $100 hour, and one was $200 an hour and the guy that did one was such a prick two years later i met him again bc he was one of my ex bfs best friend and he was still a prick so im glad i didnt tip that bitch.
chances are now if i knew the etiquette id tip them.

the next one i want is gonna be on my chest, or right below it so im gonna be laying there topless so im thinking they should tip me?

I would suggest not drinking before hand as the best tip...dude got so pissed at me..."how many have you had?"..."just a few" ...(probably 12 to 18)...he went through 3 rags wiping the blood off...should have tipped him cause I picked it out two days before hand and he told me not to drink too much...

i've always paid up front and tipped at the end...usually a bottle of high end alcohol.

kinda depends on the person, but as a rule drinking and tattoo getting is bad.
i have been hung over for 3 of 6 and the back i had to drink to absorb the ink, otherwise i was pushin it out, thats why i brought beer for my tip.

I've been going to the same guy for almost twenty years so I know he likes Johnnie Walker Black. Whenever I get work done, he gets a bottle as a tip.

Weed, Booze, a turn or yer' woman....... yeah, we'll take that.

Tattoo artists (unless we are busy as fuck) don't make a boat load of money, especially in the 'off' season, so if you like the dude's work...... tip out.
