Went to see Pacific Rim today. Theater full of guys, most by themselves like me. Very weird, and almost made me expect a porno instead of a Sci-Fi movie.
Good movie, was what I expected and wanted to see... Robots kicking Godzilla like monsters a$$es. More plot than I expected and more character development too. Really great SFX, but also a few failures in the technicality department.
Well worth seeing on the big screen, no need to 3D.
Symmetrical book stacking. Just like the Philadelphia mass turbulence of 1947.

Hard to describe. Showy but empty, suspension of disbelief is shattered by the overuse of non-existent tech in a current-day movie, none of the characters are likeable so there's no-one to root faor, and there's a nonsensical plot twist regarding the fifth horseman that is so obviously tacked on that the character even has a different haircut during the reveal.

Saw two flicks this week while we were on vacation:
Despicable Me 2
The whole family liked this one. Lots of funny moments and once again the minions steal the show. Added bonus, the theater we saw this in had power leather reclining seats, very comfy.
Pacific Rim
We saw this today in Imax 3D. I recommend the Imax, can't really say there were a lot of 3D scenes that caught my attention. Good summer flick.
