I really liked Racounteurs and Cold War Kids, The Last Shadow Puppets was another good one recently out.

Its The Musics album "Strength in Numbers" that disappointed me, I only like the title track the rest is just so-so fairly generic sounding stuff.

I enjoyed that when it first hit the airwaves but Q101 in Chicago absolutely killed it for me. I cringe now when i hear the opening beat.

What happened to rock/alternative. When the hell did high nasal voices come in vogue? Like coheed and cambria. I'd rather take a corkscrew to the scrotum than listening to them. While I'm on the subject I've noticed that I just don't like progressive rock. I don't see the appeal in 'rush'

I like most styles of music, but I hate the music of today. I listen for musicians and no one except Flea has stood out as an excellent musician in years. At least that I know of.

Oh and country in general. We have the biggest rodeo in the world here and people always try to drag me to those events. During the last concert I was forced to go I literally fell asleep.

I can see what your saying. I used to be totally against country, except for emmylou harris, but then I started playing with a group that did a lot of Gram Parsons covers and I kind of worked back from there. There's some really good stuff out there, but you just have to forget the Brad Paisley's and Kenny Chesney's of the world.

Back to the Raconteurs.....I was dissapointed because all 4 musicians involved in the project are really talented in different ways...Brendon Benson is a really good pop song writer, Jack White is a great guitarist when he isn't relying on comfortable tricks and the rhythm section from the Greenhornes....their names just arent coming to me right now...are really solid. It all had the makings of a great supergroup, then the album came out and the only memorable song was pretty derivative of Is She Really Going Out with him. The only other song I can really remember the tune to is Store Bought Bones which started out cool, but just didnt keep my attention for long. It's just one man's opinion. Maybe their next album will be awesome.

My standards are so low right now, I'm happily jamming out to Naked Eyes' "Promises Promises"

OVER HYPED GARBAGE! I hate music made by record executives!
Also most of the music on the radio today is just plain rubbish!
Too many bad band to name.
