Perhaps you are missing the greater point. If the Government (FCC) can dictate what a private corporation MUST and MUST NOT allow in the name of fairness we are no different than China on how they control their internet.

I get the "chipping away" theory of government dictates. On the other hand, I also get the chipping away theory of greedy, autonomous monopolies i.e. Comcast.

And before you go all 'free enterprise', I'm a business owner and entrepreneur in my industry having built and sold a couple of companies.

Well that's cool that you have your businesses. The government (not only Obama) would love to control your business and "regulate" where and how you invest and start new business.

They took over the student loan business. We here have Obama care now. If some one wants to go to med school, who's to say that some buerocrat won't say to the student that they will only give them a loan as long as they become a podiatrist because that's the specialty that teh government needs.

I agree with your final sentiment.... but the sad reality is that we, peons not of wealth and power, never really had/have any freedom per se. We were all sold the "american dream" wherein a McMansion, 2.5 kids, a couple nice cars and a vacation a year were enough to keep the masses at bay.

I completely understand and agree with one slight exception.

See, I don't follow the "American Dream" in the manner it has been sold to us. I look around and think of people in China living under communist oppression, India living in filth, Mexico with the drug lords on their killing spree.

I am lucky enough not to have to deal with that shit in my daily affairs. I don't care about the money I don't have or the car I will never own and shit like that. I worry about greater infringement into my daily life ya know???

This Comcast ruling will likely only affect BitTorrewnt users, as this was the reason Comcast raised a big stink about it.
