What was the first Concert you ever went to?

First concert August '81. Van Halen in Miami. Older brother had extra ticket- just broke up w/girlfriend. I was 9. Wish I'd been older. Hardly remember it now. Had no idea what a huge deal they were. Best show ever was Pink Floyd in 1993 at RFK. First night on the grass, the second 1st row of ring of honor seats opposite the stage. Fucking Amazing! The whole outer part of the stadium was bouncing from all the dancing.

saw the Boss Bruce Springsteen at age 7 at the Meadowlands in NJ with my parents, next two were Billy Joel Concerts with the parents again at Madison Square Garden.....I love getting exposed to music that early

my last was Opeth in Times Square, and the next is Metallica at the Prudential Center

It was either Long Beach Dub Allstars @ the Maritime Hall in San Francisco or Tom Petty in Concord, CA that same year.

Both were great shows.

mine was korn back in 98. i won 2 tickets to see them off the radio and that entered me into a drawing to be in the korn kage. well i fucking won and was onstage with korn for their whole entire show!! i swear i went home with whiplash. and the worst headache i've ever had. awesome night though.

Mine was Motley Crue opening for Ozzy on the shout tour. That was a great show 5th row center..

Another secret shame. 1976. 11 years old. Paramount Theater, Seattle, WA. Bay City Rollers. I was spending the summer with my sister, who was working for London Records. She got tons of freebies, so I could give her lists of music that I wanted, so I had the biggest record collection in my 5th grade class. Anyhoo, she had access to tickets for everything. By the luck of the draw, the first was the Bay City Rollers. I even got to bypass the crowd in front, and got in to see their sound check, which was fairly heady stuff for a 12 year old.

In my defense, I saw KISS (twice), Bob Seger, Ted Nugent, Rush, Aerosmith and Triumph that golden summer.

Age 13. Saw Run-DMC at Cal Expo in Sacramento on the Raising Hell tour. The opening act? The Beastie Boys. Since then, nearly every concert has been a disappointment.

Dave Matthews Band, tour opener '98. There were never any concerts around me growing up in the country. I had seen Doc Watson and old bluegrass coots at a nearby folklife festival, but I wouldn't call those concerts at all.
