LOL - That's a great question. The Beasties are amazing and deserve total credit for the rock/rap genre of music. Even still, I would personally put Rakim and KRS ONE above them. It's really so hard to just pick 1 album so I went with U2. I could probably change that answer 15 times though. It's such a hard question.

Pretty much no contest it would be Led Zeppelin, which album is a harder question, probably House of the Holy

Otherwise it is kind of cheating, but the first cd from the new remastered Mothership 2CD set(1st Cd if I had to pick one).

Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy
Led Zeppelin - Mothership

Great idea for a thread, although I think the distinction between best album, and if you could only listen to one for the rest of your life, is an important one. As far as changing music forever, Id say Led Zeppelin I, as real rock would never be the same.

I'll give the non-answer of there is no best album of all time. But I can listen to Audioslave's first album an unlimited amount of times. Must be because I went to Japan not knowing any Japanese and with a group of people I'd never met before. That was the sound track to the trip.
