I used to say soda and thought pop sounded funny. Now that I live here in MN, I say pop.

I always say I am getting a pop. When I am ordering at a restaurant I always ask if its Coke or Pepsi. Pepsi is not a viable substitute for Coke. If its only Pepsi products, I get root beer or coffee.

But, I call it soda sometimes, pop sometimes and living in the south, I say Coke more often than not. But, I seriously prefer Coca Cola to anything. Although NEVER fountain Coke. Ewww nasty. I generally drink water with lemon, sweet tea or the aforementioned Mt Dew.
