Tattoo Parlor Etiquette
I need some help with tattoo parlor etiquette.
What is the rule for tipping and when should it be done? I am starting a 3/4 sleeve on friday which will take multiple sessions. Is there a percentage that I tip and do I do it after each session or when it is done?

i just asked a few of my tattoo artists buddies for their thoughts and opinions and for the most part they all gave me the same answer of, "you dont have to but it is encouraged." i personally give $40-50 per visit on top of the cost for work...i usually get a very nice hook up considering i get worked on by close friends though. i also will only pay in cash so they dont have to report it as earnings, which helps them out in the longrun as well.
There is no set rule for tipping when it comes to tattoo's give them a little extra and when they are working on you find out what they are interested in find a cool book or buy them to delivery dinner that night its all up to the artists personality
