Yo Binary, what's a good external HD to get? I gat a feeling I'm gonna need one soon...

Right now I use a Maxtor 160GB HD. Really it a matter of personal preference. Some will tell you they had trouble with Wester Digital, some will say never had a problem (which I never did). Seagate is good. I'd go with one from a reputable company that's cheap.

I got mine for $60.

This hard drive is the sane enclosure as mine, but a much better deal.

EZ since you say you are not a computer guy I imagine that you don't want to deal with adding an internal HD. Get a USB external. It will just plug right in.

for $109.00 (i got it at a local store for 129.00) it's great.

Sure you pay a little more for an external but there is no install to deal with and you can take it with you to a friends house and plug it into his/her comp if you want to transfer files.

thats my 2 cents.

Maxtor and Seagate are both great companies.

You really cant go wrong with either one of those.

Only thing i would say is go with as much storage as you can afford because YOU WILL end up filling it up!

Exactly. I have a friend who has 5TB full of stuff and still needs more storage.
