Ohio's really a mixed bag.

Most people I know go by the following.

Pop. Generic for any kid of carbonated, sweetened, flavored drink. Could be Pepsi, Orange Crush, 7uP, Root Beer, Coca-Cola.

Soda. Fizzy water. Plan and simple. Nothing else.

Coke. DUH! Coca-Cola. Or that white powdery stuff. I just can't understand asking for a Coke and expecting to get anything other than a Coca-Cola. What, Pepsi?

Than there's Soda-Pop. Lots of people use this here. I tend to go back and forth between Pop and Soda-Pop. But I never say soda when I want "pop".

When I was a young'un, it was always pop. But now I say soda, because it seems so... sophisticated.

Everything here is a coke. Yes even I think it's stupid because when odering a sprite you should ask for a coke.

California = soda. Never called it anything else.

Where I grew up it was called pop. I moved to the South a few years back and it is called soda or coke down here. I still call it pop just because when I say pop all the Southern folk hear me say it they all think "Damn Yankee".

I grew up in a part of FL where it's always called Coke but I think it makes more sense to call it soda. I use both but choose soda for the poll.
