What an exciting trade deadline......Obviously I am a Yankee fan, and I could NOT be happier with the moves we made....getting rid of Farnsworth was a gift in itself.......picking up Pudge was a surprise that will add a lot of offense to the position......Molina is a good catcher but does get worn down when he plays a lot........Griffey going to the White Sox was pretty big, but of course the HUGE news is Manny................I can not believe they got rid of him, and I truly think this is an epic mistake by the organization. Put up with the bullshit off the field.......he was a Yankee killer, and EVERYONE in the Bronx and the Evil Empire are glad to see his ass fly WEST. Very exciting day.....

No, one of my friends is actually his and his wife's physical therapist...so we just get seats when we want them...that's my sole reason for wanting him to stay
I don't get why so many people dislike the Manny trade. They're acting like they're getting rid of their best player and not getting anything of value in return...
Manny's 2008 so far:
.299AVG 20HR 68RBI .927OPS
Playing in one of the most potent lineups and one of the best teams in baseball
Jason Bay's 2008:
.282AVG 22HR 64RBI .894OPS
Playing in one of the worse lineups and one of the worst teams in baseball
So what does this mean? It means the Red Sox get a hitter who is as good, if not better, than Manny this year. It also means Jason Bay gets out of Pittsburgh and its standard field and goes to Fenway with it's short LF wall that Manny has utilized so well. Bay's production will spike big time. Meanwhile Manny goes to Dodger Stadium, a pitchers park, where his production will likely drop off from his first half.
What does this also mean? It means they don't have to worry about finding a left fielder next year. Instead of having to be faced with the decision of paying the drama major another $20 million, they get to pay Jason Bay, who is under their control for 2009 and will be just as good, only $7.5 million. Oh yeah, and he's not a douche bag, either
Hmmm, tough fucking decision. Boston fans who hate it are idiots.

not a bahstun fan, but i can understand their disdain.
even though numbers-wise, bay is seemingly even, manny has produced for years with the sawx, most notably very recently when it counts. im not saying papi-style vs the yanks, but he has been their most consistent offensive player. i don't see bay filling the hole he left, even though he has the same numbers...the sawx will flounder and could miss the playoffs, i think.
The Bay trade was a great trade for Boston no more headaches or Manny being Manny... they get a hard working guy who doesn't bitch and moan who will put up good (not Manny good) numbers on a struggling club. I'm envious of Boston.
Glad to see Griffey get a shot at a World Series Championship... not sure if the White Sox were the best choice but I hope they do well for Griff.
