Airline tickets.
Think about this for a minute.
If I purchase a package on Ebay for example, I get charged postage delivery by weight. Similary, if I send equipment via Qantas cargo, the items are weighed and I'm charged by the kilo. How come when I buy an airline ticket, nobody weighs me. I must be cheaper to "send" by air than a fat person who weighs twice as much as me. I want airline tickets to charged per kilo. I'm sick of subsidising the travel plans of the morbidly obsese These people have had cheap travel for long enough...it's time for them to pay their way. |

Aircraft work on a "power to weight" ratio. The greater the weight an aircraft has to carry, the less efficient it is. Why should I pay for the extra weight on a flight. ?????????????? |

Your fare is based on an "average" weight. Years ago, the airline tried to charge for excessive weight on people, then size of the person, then required two seats for large people. ALL were quashed by American disabilities groups. They stated that it's impossible and illegal for the airlines to themselves determine who is obese from a medical condition vs. personal actions. Courts agreed.

Charge what they do for commercial freight...on a kilo basis. eg.. Sydney to Melbourne, your ticket price should be $3 per kilo. The system now discriminates against light people. I feel the same way about the state of medical care in the US. Reports indicate that the number 1 factor attributed to skyrocketing (no)medical care $ besides greed is the cigarette. I don't smoke. Why must I subsidize your cancer research, chemo, those little portable bottles of oxygen ...
