I'm not against punishing people for doing something wrong. I just don't want my kid in trouble somewhere and she can't call me because someone on a power trip stole her phone.

Furthermore, this is no different than a company trying to do this. Would you be saying the same thing if you worked in an office building and the company policy was no cell phones and if they caught you with one they would take it and charge you to get it back? I wouldn't work for that company very long.

These educators are not officers of the law and it is not against the law to have a phone in school. Therefore they have no right to charge you money to get your phone back. Case closed.

listen here you Al Gore loving, Hillary Clinton fucking bleeding heart liberal, i have already said i except the punishment that happens when i fuck up. so the answer to your question is yes. and no i probably wouldn't work there very long, but i'm not going to sue them or cry about it "waa waa boo hoo, they wronged me) the girl probably had to sign a contract or disicplinary policy at the first of they year saying she knows the rules, all kids in our schools do, so she knew not to have the phones out in school. hell my own wife has to call me from work on her work phone cause she isn't allowed to use her cell phone, and she a fucking teacher.

believe me, I would take care of my own kid. I would probably cut off her txt messages or something for a month, and watch her sweat it out. I never said the kid should get away with it.

but if you don't let the schools have some authority then what good is it. what would your school have been like if you didn't have that one teahcer you were scared of would paddle you, or the dreaded principles office, but that shit is gone, and becuase wussy ass new age wimps crying, mah baby! mah bay! you'll so mean to mah baby! and the god damn ACLU, schools have no way to control kids. what used to be a paddling in the principles office and detention, is now no questions asked an in school suspension you know what that is, all day long detention in a cubical by yourself doing your work, lunch at your desk and then home. no intraction with other students only one teacher. and the next stop is juvie school or alternative school! why can schools have authority of some kind.

I went to Catholic school before the term politically correct was coined. The nuns used to make us kneel on rice with our backs to the class holding a stack of books. And I was in trouble every day. I hated school so I dropped out. The right teachers would have made a different experience for me. And if anybody does that to my kid, I'd go to the school and make them kneel in the street naked. It's just the teachers job to maintain order in the class or school. Anyway I don't care that much. Too much reading and writing right now. My kid is 20.

shit dude i ain't talking about catholic schools, everyone knows that shit is fucked up, those schools treat student like they were the jews that killed jesus and their trying to get even. i'm talking simple old, public school. shit those catholics fuckers are screwed up!

Here's a random thought. If I get good at using video editing software, I'm going to make an anti-fan version of Varsity Blues. Spoiler, they will lose and get stds. I'd also attempt to make Dazed and Confused a good movie, but I would fail too. And fuck you, hippies! That movie is awful.
