Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought I read that Monty Brown didn't ask for his release....WWE released him because he was jerking them around and wasn't being forthright about what his family issue was, or when he was coming back.
What I meant by Jeff Hardy being buried was that his popularity is so high that the company could benefit from him being one of the top guys instead of being in a mid-level feud with MVP (not to knock MVP, who is talented, but he's not on the same level with Hardy). I worded that poorly; I don't think they are trying to keep him down, but I think he's a top tier player who's not getting the opportunity he deserves.
You're definitely right about people not being able to adapt to the WWE way of doing things; it's hard when someone comes to a new place and has to adjust to a new environment. But, I only asked that because it just seems to me that anytime that Vince signs someone that he didn't create (whether it was from the old NWA, AWA, WCW, ECW, or TNA), not too many of them seem to do well. Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels have done well, but it took them years to finally push guys like Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Benoit. And Booker finally got pissed and left, because some of the stuff he was doing in WWE made him look stupid. Some people get a bone thrown their way every once in a while, but it just seems like most of these guys don't get the chance to become a top dog if they weren't born and bred in WWE.

Yeah...maybe you are right. i frankly didn't give a shit about the POUNCE! and all of his lameness so didn't really follow what his ultimate fate was.

i concur, but in all honesty (and it pains me to say this as a jeff fan) he is unreliable to push as a top guy. in the eyes of the complany he probably has to pay his dues again and show consistency for a bit before they will get behind him again. mvp is good but has needs that feud to bring him to the next level. IMO he has been kinda just floating in purgatory, a problem that i have read they are trying to force shelton out of by giving him the title.

the majority of guys on that list made their name and gimmicks prior to the wwe. their exposure due to the company is what took them to the next level.
yes, there are very few considering the numbers of those who have tried, but i as a fan and future hopeful prospect i want a place that demands the best and only keeps the best.

look at the dudleys and kurt

I always thought booker was better in the ring than on the mike, as soon as his wife got involved I lost interest. At the end of the day its up to the writers and the crowd who gets over. Lord knows the writers don't like Jeff Hardy but the crowd has more than enough love for him. I honestly believe that the writing is mostly the end all be all since most guys aren't allowed to ad lib.
Out of Tna I only miss Kurt and Christian. I'm pretty happy they made him a world champ, I always thought he was the more talented of Edge and Christian.
After reading this whole thread I get the distinct impression that I can find pictures of most of you guys in the Douchebags thread...just an observation.

hmmmmm actually I think the last thing I could see wrestling fans doing is going tanning and taking pictures of themselves shirtless in front of a mirror. Nice effort though. But if you have nothing to contribute.... GTFO!
When did Jonathan Coachman make it onto ESPN? When did he leave WWE? He bugs the shit out of me on WWE television and even more when he's reading sports highlights on FirstTake.

Oh you are absolutely correct, you would never see a wrestler tanning and obsessing about his hair and body…WAIT! THAT JUST DESCRIBED EVERY WRESTLER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF WRESTLING. And it gets even worse (read: even more gay) wrestlers don’t pose in front of mirrors; they pose in front of a stadium full of men. I guess you were wrong. Listen if you guys want to talk about men in Speedos rolling around on the floor with other men in some kind of HOMOEROTIC SOAP OPERA you shouldn’t get so butt hurt when someone makes fun of you. This is still DSF right? I thought making fun of each other was contributing?
