She's in that upper middle class to lower upper class level. It's plenty of money to be making, plus when you factor her lifestyle and per diem she definitely lives like an upper middle class to lower upper class lifestyle with some fun hobbies (plane, snowmobiles, etc.)
Hell no with her pay as governor and all of the payments she gets to help laws pass and all the shady shit politician get under the table not a chance in hell. Even if she doesn't make the vp, she still will be paid a crap load for public speaking seminars. No politician is this fing country is middle class, It takes a bunch of funds to run for any political position. And all the spiffs you get after is insane.

$1 million in assets usually tied to ones home doesn't mean shit in most urban areas of CA.
I consider the Palins to be over upper middle class as compared to a dual income family where both wage earners have a MBAs and a combined incomes of $250,000, the max. limit on the definition of middle class Obama say's will get a tax break. The median American household income according to the Census Bureau was $50,223 in 2007. The cost of living in Alaska is expensive but I don't think it is has expensive to say living in the bay area of San Fransisco or NYC. Alaska does not have an income tax but only a corporate tax.
