Am I the only one who never bought into the hype on Julia Roberts?

I mean, she's literally a Pretty Woman, but she was never someone who overwhelmed with her beauty. Or her sex appeal. Or her acting ability, frankly.

Nope, I never have bought into it either.

I've actually never seen Pretty Woman and I can't name any of her other stuff.

I was 9 or 10 when it came out and my mom didn't want me getting any ideas.

I dunno, I'm a fan. She comes across as a nice person. Apart from a couple of ropey entries (mary Reilly), her resume's pretty solid. The oscar for Brokovich was well-deserved, Notting Hill is an oft-repeated favourite. She even won Conspiracy Theory from Mel Gibson.

I think that she's not that hot was the key to her success. It means she could play things like doctors or sales clerks. I know "it's a curse to be so beautiful" can be a real bullshit line sometimes, but at some point you're like "Someone like Margot Robbie is not going to be working at the DMV. At the very least a Pats cheerleader or something."
