I literally just finished watching Milk...It was surprisingly good, but they did not develop Josh Brolin's character enough. Without spoiling anything, I don't see a reason why he did what he did in the movie.

I was referring to the failure of the director, and the writer to give just cause to why Dan White killed Harvey Milk. There had to be a reason, and the "Twinkie Defense" that White's lawyers gave was not reason enough. They failed to develop the character enough to justify to the audience why White killed Milk.
