 that's interesting to know MadamMeow but perhaps I should explain the reference as in Australia, Kylie Minogue is called the singing budgie because of her voice and the way she flaps about on stage like a budgerigar can be trained to do. I had one as a pet that kept getting out( it learnt how to open the cage) but people would always bring it back as it had been taught to say my address

My birdie did the cage thing too, but we just started tying a twist tie around it. We let it out a lot and fortunately never lost it to the wild.
