I would agree here. When it got vacant around here, there were nowhere near enough people to rep in order to get back to the ones who were earning it.
While I understand there is an opportunity to abuse the rep system, I'd suggest that by forcing everyone to rep this many posters you create a situation where people are getting repped for lesser posts that otherwise weren't that deserving of rep to begin with. Which in a sense is the same result as the abuse you're worried about.

I'm pretty sure there are reasons they don't even bother trying to use main stream pic hosts. I know we got in trouble with a whole bunch of them with our quality content.

I totally agree with you. I was doing the same thing. It needs to be lessened a little. Although with all the people posting now, I made a cycle within a day as opposed to a week and a half.
rep isn't gold. don't be so damn cheap with it. wtf? What do you guys have, a rep scale of worthiness? Then you say rep is bullshit anyway. If I held out on rep for only things I found interesting or needed, I'd give out rep once a week maybe.
