A couple stories from my travels

Was partying one night with some peeps and met some really cool dudes. We drank, made jokes, had some laughs. They were funny and interesting... not at all like a lot of other rock "stars" i've met before. After drinking for a while we found out they are only in town for 2 days... "Oh, really? Why is that?". Turns out they are all from AirborneToxic Event and they are on tour. They gave me 2 All Access passes to their show the next night. I had never even heard of them but they were pretty freaking good! I'm now a fan.





Also, they have a violinist that was kinda cute (playing tambourine in the video below). I was trying to holla but she wasn't having it

ugh, I will just drive to Chinatown from now on. It takes 45 minutes to get there, but the dongpo pork took me all day to cook, and I am still cleaning it up.

One more.

The first time i ever fainted in my life:

One of the first weekends I was here I met a chick that was really hot, a cool little college chick - kinda young 22 or 23 i think. We're out drinking and getting fucked up at a semi-douchy bar/club that really wasn't my scene and after a few drinks and convo she says do you want to do a bump with me? I say I'm game. We go to a girls bathroom bypassing chicks that are giving me an odd look like they've never seen a guy go into a ladies' room stall before. We proceed to do bumps from her g.

Night's going good and we bounce and head to her friend's gathering where there are a fair amount of people because it's a Saturday night. We play some stupid drinking game that I didn't want to play and the convo turns to Molly. I told her Molly is my DOC... I say "Do you wanna do some?". She's like "fuck yeah do you have some?". Fa sho! Pull out a few...

So we both pop 1. It's taking over an hour to hit and she's getting anxious so she suggests we "dome" a couple lines to kickstart it. I'm down. I break open a capsule and we divide up some lines and take turns raping our nostrils. Feels like we're snorting bleach. Some others join in and things are feeling pretty good now.

Fast forward to about 8am and we are rolling hard... especially because we had each domed 4 more hefty lines (which amounts to almost 2.5 capsules each). Now things are kinda quiet... most people have gone home or crashed out and it's me and her trying to watch movies HIGH AS FUCK... but now we can't have loud music on anymore which sucks balls. We tried to watch City of Lost Children but she freaks out on the visuals. We end up watching Vicky Christina Barcelona (fuck yeah!) because she likes Scarlette Jo.... weirdest thing is that we didn't realize it but there is a bit of a hallucinogenic in this molly and we notice that Scarlette Jo's lips are pulsating. She looks like a cartoon We are almost too fucked up to even mess around but we start making out. If you've never made out or had sex on molly let's just say it is euphoric to say the least.

We groped each other for what seems like hours and then she says "Let's go to my house because I have some weed there. I dont wanna roll all day so lets smoke and crash out in my bed". Now, I don't have to tell you that this means let's go back to my place and fuck. Up until this point i was being extremely mellow - letting her suggest things, not being at all pushy, just trying to have a good time but now i'm like "That sounds like the perfect plan"... we all know that chicks are always so much more comfortable in their own homes which leads to getting laid almost every time.

On the way over (she's driving) she said that her dad probably has some beer that we can have as well. HUH? "Oh, you still live with your parents?". She says "yeah but my mom is out of town and my dad is really cool. He's a sound engineer for big name bands so he's a big hippy. He doesn't care if I smoke weed or drink but he won't even know you're over. My bedroom is in the basement of the house so we'll go in through the back and he won't even see us". ermm... ok.

We walk in through the basement back door and just like in a bad dream her dad is in the basement rebuilding some fucking speakersssss : . Fucking swell. She introduces me and I shake his hand hoping to god that he doesn't see how dilated my pupils are. We retreat to her room. We smoke but now we are talking quietly because her dad is literally in the next room. The drugs are making me feel like i'm in high school and i just met my prom date's father for the 1st time. Molly and weed are pumping strong though my body.... the weed is not making me sleepy at all and I'm definitely not getting laid now. After about a half hour i'm so stoned and still rolling hard so I tell her that I'm really fucked up and want to go back to my hotel. She's cool with that and we start to leave but she stops to talk to her dad so I go and wait outside. The brightness of the sun is blinding as I come out of her dark house. Things get even brighter and i feel light headed now... i think I am going to puke or something.... no big deal I just gotta get it over with. Just as i see her coming out of the door it gets extremely bright like a flash of white light. I start to feel myself fall and the next thing i know i wake up with my head in her lap. She says i fainted.

Jesus. What am I some kind of lightweight? She tells me to come lay down in her room. She says that she didn't tell me but earlier in the night doing the lines of molly made her throw up in the bathroom so I shouldn't feel bad. Great, i made out with a chick that threw up earlier. Wouldn't be the first time. At least i couldnt taste anything. As i'm crashing out in her bed i start to think of how surreal the night was especially since I'm in a strange town.

Most people that will bother to read this would probably think that this sounds like a shitty night. To most people it might be. For me, I absolutely love these types of random new experiences even if they don't end up going exactly as planned.

4 or 5 drinks at a bar - $40
bumps from a hot chick - $0
2.5 caps of molly - $20
getting smoked out - $0
Fainting in a hot chick's yard - PRICELESS!


EDIT - TL;DR Partied too hard and fainted before I could get laid.

I also saw Chase & Status (one of my faves), Ghostland Observatory which put on one of the most amazing live shows i've ever seen, Crystal Castles, Atmosphere, and I'm going to see Skrillex soon too.

The girl that I was seeing at the time had a camera that could take little videos and she took a lot of little 30 second snippets from the shows. I've uploaded a couple and I'll post them later.


Here is the Chase & Status show. At the beginning we are really far because they had started already when we arrived. We managed to move closer during the set.
