Cops: Ex-Rugby Star Turns Killer’s Face To Mush
More proof that rugby players might be the toughest athletes in the world: even their ex-athletes turned criminals are more hardcore than in the US. Witness the case of former New Zealand professional rugby player Mike Edwards: the WELLINGTON DOMINION POST reports that he has been charged with beating a convicted murderer to a pulp and leaving him for dead. Which is a lot more impressive (in a Quentin Tarantino sort of way) than getting sent up the river for dog fighting.

Police allege that Edwards kidnapped Michael Sneller and beat him with a shotgun until he was unconscious and then left him in the trunk of a car. Sneller had previously been convicted of murder in 1983 after beating a businessman to death in what was described then as “a classic gangland burglary, beating and killing.”

Edwards played more than 100 top-level professional games in New Zealand, and his rough style and appearance earned him the nickname Tyson. That, and the fact that he once served a six-game suspension after he bit an opponent’s arm in what he claimed was self-defense. (It seems like it was about 50/50 as to if he or his namesake would be arrested and charged with attempted murder first.)

Maybe he could use that defense in this case as well: claim that he was just minding his own business, walking down the road to the gun club to do some clay pigeon shooting, when Sneller came at him out of nowhere. What could he do but wail away on him with his shotgun until he was unconscious?

To give an idea of how scary a guy Sneller is, think about this: his original murder trial was the first in his country’s history where witnesses had to be protected by the police. The only thing more frightening than him is the guy willing to mess with him in the first place.

its easier, better and faster than IE. Plus the pop up blocker is so much better as well.

Not my words but expresses my feelings pretty well... Firefox 2 was ok but I liked IE7 better. Firefox 3 beats IE7 and IE8 isn't out yet so for now I am using FF3.

Firefox 2 was usable, but I liked IE much better still. A lot of really good UI work went into IE 7 around the Tab UI and optimizing away the old menu bar. Sure, it has its faults and quirks, but I still felt more at home in IE.

Now that Firefox 3 is out, I basically have been converted without even thinking about it. And that's the key: when I use Firefox 3, I don't notice that it isn't IE. The only time I notice it's Firefox is when it does something better than IE, like spell checking my edit boxes, or remembering the URLs from my last session.

It's the little things that matter.

When I use IE now, it feels slow and poorly put together. Firefox is snappy; the UI is more polished. They stole some ideas from IE (The Gold Bar) and made them better. They have some ideas of their own (disjoint search term matching in autocomplete) that are great, too.

And as a good friend of mine used to say, "if it ain't snappy, it's crappy."

So Firefox 3 sets a high bar for the IE team to meet. I sincerely hope they blow it away. I think it is way too early to judge the IE8 UI; I will just have to wait and see how it shapes up.

I second that notion.

I went to a Catholic summer camp for a few yrs as a kid,and that was one of the required songs we had to sing.......

Pure torture,and worst of all,I wasn't even fuckin catholic.lol

This camp cost mucho denero to attend,and the priest felt bad for my
mom(cause she was poor at the time),at let us kids go for free.

Attending church on the Sundays was the worst experience of it all,a true nightmare in every sense of the word.lol

ok this firefox is a lots faster, but now i dont have any of my fav sites and i remember reading that there was an add-on for that i think, this is gonna take some learning
