See Occam's Razor.

By your theory, everybody needs to disprove bigfoot's existence. Also, God is not verifiable or quantifiable...that's why it's called faith.

I still don't get why anyone needs to prove anything. Binary's right, it's called faith for a reason. I believe there's a God, but if you don't then that's cool because, who knows, you might be right.

So the theory with the fewest assumptions is correct? I think my theory that I can't make any assumptions is pretty correct then? Or am I misunderstanding the intention of your linky?

Perhaps god isn't verifiable or quantifiable and needs a convenient vehicle called faith because he really is indeterminable from a bigfoot/flying spaghetti monsters/etc? I suppose what I'm saying is.....yeah, you do need to disprove bigfoot's existence. That fucker really could be out there, I don't know. Logic and the worlds opinion might sway me to the contrary...but I really don't fucking know - do you?

So seriously, which side of the fence do you fall on? I couldn't tell. I'm an indecisive agnostic, remember?

I'd offer a stronger rebuttal but I'm currently sponging off your app thread - so I don't want to anger the DSF gods - I may need help extracting Nero in the coming moments .

Wow!
I read the title of this poll and thought, oh shit here we go. But I was actually surprised, pages and pages of people actually sharing thoughts and opinions without resorting to insults.
Congrats people, religion is always a tricky one to bring up, and it has been done nicely here.

I didn't vote myself, because my option isn't up there. Binary has pretty much summed my thoughts on the topic.

One thing I'll add though, I was once told of the "god of the gaps". Basically in this day and age we know the earth goes around the sun, we know why lightening happens, we can cure disease and make infertile couples into parents. What people used to pray to god for is getting smaller and smaller, in effect, he is now the god of the gaps, the gaps in our knowledge, and as our knowledge grows, the gaps become smaller, if you believe in THAT god, eventually there will be no need for him.

I was raised a catholic, but it didn't take much digging to realise it didn't make any sense to me. In recent times I've been looking at Buddhism, and that is something that makes sense to me. Essentially it says the answer is inside you, there is no need to look skyward for divine intervention.

As for having prove that something doesn't exist, to me that just goes against all human logic and the modern/scientific world we live in. But, again, as Binary said, thats why its called faith.

What the hell, you think we are all a bunch of idiots and morons that we can't have an intelligent discussion? Take a look, even when we fight, we do it on a higher level then most (well, except for Amy, she just goes all defensive and boobie like)

Oh get over yourself!
My point was, when it comes to religion even a group meeting of Mensa can get heated.
Morons and idiots would've just thought you made half of those religions up
