i recently quit taking lexapro. its been hard but it was a personal choice since i no longer wanted to be chemically dependent and had been on it for quite some time.
So for an extra value woody, put this BigMac into that Quarter-Pound pussy, yes!

It will surprise everyone that I am not on any meds and never have been. I'm sure I should be, but that would require a visit with the doctor, and I'm not going!
I know I have a lot of things people would call problems, but I always feel it sort of plays off each other. I seem to go through phases of an extreme in either direction and because of that my mind processes things and works in different ways.
It holds me back mostly in my motivation, in the few times I am at the top of my game I know I have to do a LOT so that the after effects can tide me over until it might happen again.
Not sure if I am talking in riddles here. I have seen my family on a hell of a lot of drugs, from heroin to prescription medicine. I honestly dont even see a particular difference either way. You can be hooked on anything and the hook in itself is the overall destructive power. It pushes me away from ever wanting to go to a doctor. At least with illegal drugs you might stop taking them one day since they have such bad press and you dont want to go to jail.
I couldnt imagine getting out of a routine of prescription drugs. Once you tell yourself a magical pill will make your problems disappear, human nature will take over and thats it all over.
Does anyone else not find it a bit concerning how everyone seems to know the brands of these pills and their effects in so much detail? Its like another consumer trend.

The reason i know the brands and details is simply i think education is a vital tool. I was diagnosed and wanted to know more about what i was diagnosed with and still do find it a fascinating subject. Possible cures and preventions is part of this. After all this disorder is part of me, part of my personality.
If someone was to ask me names of drugs related to cancer, i also know loads about that too for the same reasons. My dad was diagnosed and as a kid i wanted to learn loads about it. What he was facing and what we would expect as a family.
Any other drug apart from paracetamol, aspirin, ibuprofen then i don't have a clue. Education isn't such a bad thing. Look how far we have come we are talking about mental illness. Its not so long ago we would all be classed as freaks and needing a padded cell.

Taking what I said and then saying its like I dislike education isn't exactly what I was going for.
Everyone has a right to knowledge, that isn't the point lol.
Maybe what I said didn't make sense. I certainly dont have an issue with people knowing about anything. I guess I have a different perspective standing from outside because I deliberately avoid doctors and medicine in general other than things like paracetamol.
I know its come a long way since people were being thrown in cells and getting the electro-shock stuff and all that. Now its all political issues and ethics and money. There are definitely a lot more things that worry me about the modern world than a lot of people being dependant on drugs they may or may not need.
What was my point again?
