Dillon isn't horrible... it's not the Apple, it's not even really a "city" by any standards. But it's close to the beach, which is nice (one with no hypodermics washing up no less) and the weather is almost always nice around here. If nothing else you'll be close to the Zoos in NC and SC as well as the NC Aquarium system and the Ripley's and SC aquariums. It wouldn't be horrible, dude, just different. I never thought I'd adapt to living off-base, but I've come to enjoy the mild winter with its 1.5 snowfalls a year and the nice fall and spring we get around here. If you do end up moving, or even just coming to visit, let me know and we'll have to get together and have a beer (just not at SotB, because they're probably $18 a glass).

There is one good thing about SotB that I forgot to mention, their nifty advertising... I picked up "chili today, hot tamale" from my dad when I was young. Here're more:
