Politicians make money because they are politicians, not because they are on the warming bandwagon. Besides people like Kerry was already rich before anyone really started talking about global warming. Which btw is not what scientists call it. It is called climate change. The scientists who are giving us the facts about it are not making any money and they have overwhelming scientific evidence to back up what they are saying.

It's only called "climate change" now because it's been proven to be getting colder. Instead of saying, "We were wrong," they just changed the lie. And yes, Gore and many others have made 10s of millions purely on Global Warming. They're rich because they'll do anything for money and they'll never have enough. There also is ZERO scientific evidence to back anthropomorphic climate change.

Is this called patriotic masturbation? Get a fucking grip, yes, the USA has a lot of money and spends a lot on other countries blah blah blah. So do most countries, the reason you don't know about it is cos when they do it they don't get all fucking egocentric and tell everyone else to do do as they say and impose their politics on the rest of the world. This kind of egocentric viewpoint is what alienates the rest of the world, long may it continue.

The reality is, most of these political arguments are fucking stupid and getting wound into it is just as bad as sprouting out any old unreferenced garbage.

Actually, Kerry's wife is the rich one. He's just a golddigger.

Global warming, climate change, environmentalism, ecology, conservation. Whatever the handle it's nothing new. The names change, but the song's still the same. It's Iron Eyes Cody dropping a tear on the side of the road. It's Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. It's Teddy Roosevelt, the father of the reasonable conservation movent. This didn't start last week.

The scientists aren't making any money? Really? How do they feed their families? Do they moonlight at 7-11? Saving the world by day, pulling Slurpies by night? Because they're scientists, somehow they're hearts are more pure? No agendas, no biases? No grant money at stake? Please. It's amazing to me how cynical our society can be, yet at same time assume people whose jobs depend on a certain outcome are somehow pure at heart. Especially when those predetermined olutcomes are the ones we want to believe in.

No, most countries don't spend a lot of humanitarianism. They don't, not only because they can't, but because they won't.

How are we egocentric in Haiti? How about in the Pacific Rim after the tsunaimi? How did we tell anyone what to do or say? We didn't. We went in, did the job and went the fuck home.

It's commitment to say any discussion of anything is stupid? No. It's intellectual laziness. I'm sure you think you're edgy and ironic because you don't give a fuck. But you still have to post that you don't give a fuck, just so everyone knows that you don't give a fuck. In case they didn't know how edgy you really are.

Maybe your time would be better spent on the porn or celebrity forum. Now that would be commitment.

wow, it is funny how people can be so confident about something they know absolutely nothing about. How much research have you done on this subject? Of course special interests will fund scientists, but most of the people doing this research are professors and PhD students working at universities making less than your average dentist. Hate to tell you but most of the scientists I met are just trying to find answers. They have no interest in the outcome one way or another. They are just looking for the truth. Every penny of grant money has to go to research. Most researchers do not draw a salary from their grant money. They make an average wage from their institution. They can have millions in grant money and still drive an old Toyota. Regarding climate change, there are thousands of publications supporting the evidence that carbon emissions are damaging the atmosphere. Who is paying all these scientists to write these bias papers? The solar energy people?

Care to point out where I'm clueless? Climate change is caused mostly by the sun. If you want definitive proof, look at the studies on Mars. They have found that the "climate change", "global warming", or whatever red herring you want to call it matches Earth's nearly exactly. It warmed as the Earth warmed at nearly identical percentages (a tad bit less due to it's further distance, but not much) and it cooled at the same times and rates the Earth cooled. Or did the few battery/solar powered rovers we sent up there cause that, too?

What about the intentionally faked data (a decade's worth or so) by these "scientists?" It's been proven that CO2 levels follow warming trends instead of predicate them. 1200 years ago, Greenland was farming areas now covered by glaciers. Old routes show that the Arctic passages, also now covered with glaciers were traversed by shipping vessels.

That's a whole lot of "clues."
