Sadly there are no mountain masses near us (not even aquatic ones ), but at the Puerto Rican trench which reaches down 29,000 feet, their promises to be many, if not several potential earth displacing events. Though unfortunately we won't have an earthquake but rather a Tsunami

Inagua (our closest island to Haiti) experienced a slight tremor during the Haitian earthquake, and though the fault that runs beneath Haiti also exist closest to Inagua, it sits just behind Cuba , no earthquakes for us

You have Bahamians here scared as fuck and raging against Heir Prime Minister Ingraham, for releasing all the Haitians set to be repatriated and allowing them temporary status for the foreseeable future. They're bitching about "too many of them here naw and da ones here muss go maa buoy." Well in all honesty they're only 25,000 haitian nationals here and their decedents which is about 50,000, which is only 1/4 our population, so no biggie.

Wow. What a great argument. Insinuate I am a 911 Truther. Can you find a thread where I said that? Can you find any post where I stated support for that position? Oh, you can't. It's almost like you libs can't argue unless it becomes about attacking the other person.

How about this then, rather than trying to dodge the question explain why so many of the global warming folk money-makers have multiple mansions and fly all over the world on vacations, gobble caviar, ride around in limousines and act like there is no problem? Because they really don't believe it, that's why.

Whenever a natural disaster strikes:

Whose citizens reach the deepest into their pockets?

Whose citizens are the first responders, even if it's half a world away?

Whose citizens drop what they're doing to move supplies and materiel to the scene?

Which country sends troops to maintain order, usually without firing a shot, no matter how badly chaos is the ruler of the day?

When the crisis is contained, whose troops leave without taking an inch of land?

Which country doesn't ask for a bit of thanks, respect, or to even be treated with a modicum of decency 6 months or a year after the fact?

Which country is shat upon by the rest of the world, right up until they need their asses pulled from the fire by that same country. And then bitches at thast country because it wasn't enough or delivered in a timely manner?

Iran? Dubai? China?

Of course not. It's Los Estados Unidos. The Great Satan.

We're the most evil, tyrannical country in the world. Until our skills, wealth and overwhelming compassion are needed. And does our selfless devotion to helping people win us any friends from the "civilized" world? No. Yet we keep busting a gut every single time we're needed.

As a person, it really makes me want to tell the rest of the world to go to Hell. But I still contribute what I can. As a society, we still contribute more than we can. Why? Because if we don't, who will? Certainly not those who hate us.

He doesn't answer, because he can't. Facts are what they are. The leadership of the Warming movement is raking in huge amounts of cash, while telling the rest of us that we have to live like 3rd and 4th Worlders. Of course they leave out the fact that the Soviet Union, while a superpower at the time, was little more than a 3rd World nation, was the greatest polluter in history. National Geographic has documented over the years the areas in the former Sov that are uninhabitable because of the reckless, no, criminal actions of the Leftist superpower. Chernoyble is just the tip.

The question remains, tho. What of those who are telling us to give up our modern conveniences while they themselves cruise off to Copenhagen with their entourages and private jets and limo services when they get there? Is asking that hypocrisy be explained on par with Truthers, Birthers, Holocaust Deniers? Of course it's not. And to try to compare them does nothing more than show the shallowness of your beliefs.

I do disagree, dog, that the leadership doesn't believe there's a problem. They very well may. The problem is that so many great "thinkers" over history (left, right or wherever in the spectrum) love to philosophise great rules for the rest of us to live by, while they themselves are exempt from those same rules. Why? Because they pay lip service to everyone being equal. But, like in Animal Farm, some are more equal than others. Here's an example. I once saw Benny Hinn (the faith healing TV preacher) talking about how God wanted him to have a big house, fancy cars, gawdy jewelry and private planes because the more comfortable he was, the more he was able to focus on helping people by doing the Lord's work. Sure, it sounds delusional to us, but when you're at those lofty plateaus, with cameras pointed at you, with people hanging on your every word, I imagine it's very easy to get caught up in your own sense of grandiosity. John Kerry and Al Gore need the mansions and private planes so they can focus on doing their good deeds without having to worry about queuing up to get on a plane. Barry Obama can take Air Force One to New York City for Night at taxpayer expense so he can keep his mind clear on solving the problems of the plebes.

Leaders, any leaders, don't think like we do because they aren't us. They're above us. They're saving us, mostly from ourselves, in their minds. It's textbook corruption by power.

Fog, I know for a fact that dog is not a Truther, a Birther, or a Holocaust Denier, altho I'm unsure where he stands on the JFK Assination. It was a cheap shot that certainly managed to divert attention away the real subject. I doubt that was your intent, but I do think you have to admit it wasn't a very cricket comment to make.

Just once, I would love to see our government say "oh, this is terrible. We have our own problems, tho. Maybe you should call Argentina or Liberia to help you out. Good luck." It'll never happen, tho. Our collective decency won't allow it.
