Fair enough. Whether it is justified or not is above my par grade. My point was simply that the guy in the video is a pro, not a rich guy shooting at an animal in a cage. I guess I got off topic and stumbled onto some humans vs. innocent animals, minding their own business shit.

If there is a cute little innocent rabbit eating shit in my back yard and otherwise fucking my shit up, I might choose to fuck his shit up. For the most part, people top the chain. And as long as big 5 hunts are legal there will be a demand for pro guides like that. This guy has to stand out in the open, while the rest of the party runs for the jeep, he has to bait the charge, stare it down and execute. It is life or death for both of them.

So I don't hope he gets eaten. His contribution to society is that other people don't get eaten while they attempt to experience something primal. Whether that is justified, or necessary, is open to debate perhaps. But the lion doesn't contribute more to society.

Maybe someday a predator will roll into town and say, "Hey, what up. I would like to leave my life of killing animals for food and do my part. You know, enter the daily grind and attempt to make this a better world. Maybe I'll contribute by singing a shitty song, or creating a lame tv show, or curing cancer. Then I am going to go Dr. Zaius on your ass and hunt humans for sport." I think I would be cool with that. Until then they are animals and they might be food or game.

Fuck society. Animals don't fuck each other over for no reason. For an animal survial is all that matters and they don't kill anything they don't have to. Where as us decent, civilised human beings have cause thousands of animals to go extinct, to cease to exist, simple because we need to stockpile food that goes off, or we needed the forests where they lived for porn mags or we wanted their horns so we could get a hard on.

And the people who go on these hunts make me sick. 'Wanting to experience something primal', these people would sit in a clock tower with a rifle and start picking off school children if there was someone they could pay to do it.

I understand you're taking a neutral position but you talk about fucking up a rabbit which is simple looking for something to eat, how can you justify that?

Wow...Not experienced much in the animal kingdom, I assume. Yes, animals DO fuck each other over as much as or worse than people. At least people have laws and attempt to give the less capable in society a fighting chance at happiness. In the animal world, if I want to fuck your wife, I can do so with no consequences provided I beat the fuck out of or kill you. If I want whatever food or shelter you have, I take it. If I am just jealous of where you live or what you have and want it for myself, I take it. This all happens constantly in the wild. They call it "preserving the species," or "survival of the fittest." We're at the top of the food chain for a reason and that's because we don't let our most basic instincts guide how we live.

Assume that the big cats were the dominant species on the planet and we were dumber than them. Do you think for a moment that they would give the first flying fuck how fair they were to us or anyone else? Humans are the ONLY creatures on the planet who even pretend to have interest in the prolonging of ALL life on this planet and in preserving the planet to any degree. So if it takes a few dead animals to make sure we live and can preserve nature to a greater extent than any of the other life on this planet and possibly others in the future, then so be it.
