really appreciate the input. i work in the industrial field so more used to sensitive componants being protected. makes sense that cheap componants wouldn't have any type of protection. when i get ahold of the machine i'll crack it open and start testing it from the power supply back. hopefully the problem is there

Default Dumbass question to the experts
Apologize for my dumbassness - can't help it right now. I am having problems figuring something out. Got a larger monitor for xmas, can't get it to display internet on whole screen. it is a acerH233H 23" lcd. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You new monitor was probably shipped and stored and kept in a box until you got it. That means it is very thirsty. Pour a few beers and a mountain dew into the holes on the back and your problem should be solved.

Did you install the drivers and set the screen resolution to 1680x1050 in the display properties? The only other thing I can think of is you are not maximizing your browser.

Other than what theSnake said, you can also zoom in/out on your browser.

Hold the Control key down and scroll your mouse's wheel up or down. Works on most apps too.
