There's usually like 3 other guys standing around with high powered rifles. The lion never has a chance. Why else would an adult male lion be charging at him right out in the open. We all know how lions hunt and it is usually the females who do the hunting. I guess there is some chance that the guy could get nailed by the lion, but how many people do you hear about that get killed by lions? There are hunting camps like this all over the US. You can probably go to Texas right now and pay a few grand to shoot just about any animal you want.

Well, it's a problem for the people and the animals. Humans are hunting the animals to extinction, and logging and destroying all the habitat, but people have to eat, so what do you do? The big problem is that the primitive snares and traps they use also kill endangered species like gorillas and rare monkeys etc. Normally starving people in Africa are not hunting lions with rifles. That was a white man in full hunting gear. He was on a trophy hunt which I find despicable. Hunting for food when you don't have a supermarket or money to buy it is a different story.
