i actually think this whole skater thing goes by locale...because being from south florida and living in central florida....there are much more just average, "normal", and preppy styled kids than skater/punk types.

i personally will wear sandals everywhere, cuz im in college and lazy and etc etc.

but if i'm wearing sneakers(never) they're usually athletic, and nike.

so it just depends on ur son's style, which is obv more skater(at least dc implies that).

i made a deal with my kid, long as he gets straight a's, he can wear whatever he wants. the grades start slipping, so does my tolerance.

my kids currently in a heavy metal stage..all black, long hair.

I def agree with you, Just reading all this scares me. I hope I can keep up with all the fashion stuff. Sometimes I think my son is doomed! I only grew up with sisters, I sometimes feel out of place when shopping for him. I tend to look at what boys are looking at in the toy section. And even at day care I just keep comparing my son to other boys to make sure he fits in. And shit he's not even 3 yet..lol..

I never realized how fast 'we' go out of date!!
