But what are you doing to get you pics to have this extra code around them?


The reason i ask is that I see it a lot and i want to know how to tell people to correct this.

Which code set are you taking from ImageShack?

After I upload the pics, I select "thumbnail 1 for forums." I click on the insert image icon when posting though. That extra stuff around the pictures annoys me, but I have no idea how to get rid of it.

If I'm correct, it puts the url tags around the pic automatically and a thumbnail shows up on the forum, so you don't need to use the insert pic button, just paste the link from imageshack.



Yup. Just paste the link. No need for the image button.

When the image is hosted somewhere it doesn't give you the tags to copy/paste is my guess which is only based on how the insert image button works elsewhere.

Correct. Some image hosts add the IMG tags into their code, some don't.
So it's a matter of knowing if the host you use does or doesn't.
