wait where did you read that she made 200K an ep?
that is an insanely large amount per episode for a reality show...AND ESPECIALLY one that is on MTV. Everyone knows MTV pays the least out of all the networks.
(even though it is the largest TV network in existence right now)
Is that just a figure that you grabbed from thin air?
No, I have a friend from law school that worked for MTV Latin America in Miami. Also, there was an article a couple months back about what MTV was paying reality stars. It was more aimed at the Hills "stars," but I would probably say that even if she wasn't on that level, the tramp would be making serious coin. I've also heard the figure is around $25K an episode. In any event, it's a lot of money for doing nothing but letting cameras follow you around. Also, MTV allegedly tries to deflate what they pay their "stars" to avoid public scrutiny. Interestingly, most of these people don't appear to be hurting for any money.

I just did a quick web search to see what would come up. I can't remember where I read the article, but I know it wasn't the NY Times or the WSJ. It's possible my friend tried to inflate the dollar amount per episode, although I'm not sure why they would. Maybe they were including all perks? I can't really say for sure. This article seems to support that $25K is what a "star" would be paid. I'm sure Tila Tequila's show generated decent numbers for MTV. Even if she was only making $15K an episode and she did 10 episodes, that's decent coin.
