Up until recently I believed that there was no such thing as a purely evil person. I thought that within every person there was a core of goodness, that we might simply call humanity. Even in the worst case, those that are clearly too dangerous to be free in society, I believed there still existed something good within them.

'Evil', if I call it that, was our judgement of actions, and had to remain with the actions.

Recent events in my life however has made me question this position. I wonder now if it is possible that there are people that are truly evil. People that cause harm to everyone they get close enough to to do so.

So I am sorry that I have lost this sense of innocence and greater belief in the nature of humanity, even if a little bit. I hope this loss is only temporary, and does not leave me permanently scarred, for I believe it is in allowing ourselves to become scarred in such ways that we lose touch with that purity within us, our humanity.

I am sorry I trusted naively, and I am sorry I trusted the wrong person.

I'm also dealing with a few of these types people right now and have dealt with many over the years.

The scars on your heart not on your face do heal, but as I'm learning, once someone new comes and does the same fucking thing, it opens all the old ones up all over again worse than it was before.

Everyone will tell you not to let them win and just be happy, but wtf are you supposed to do when everyone seems to go out of your way to ruin that every time you let it happen? All you can do is keep forging on.

Hope something cuts you a break soon.

Thanks. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. My hope in this case is it makes me wiser, but not untrusting. In other words, to love again as if never hurt before.
