I'm watching it right now. I fell asleep before it came on last night. I was surprised when Aoki pulled off that gogo, but his opponent was completely awful. Aoki may have the worst hands of anyone considered a great fighter. He reminds me of Royce Gracie at UFC 1. No striking, but grappling like few have seen.

gotta disagree effjay. sonnen was saying no AFTER the fight and was screaming in pain when the armbar was sunk in. there were ten seconds left in the round and paulo had the arm locked in and chael was not getting out. if the ref let it go on any longer sonnen's arm would have snapped like a twig and injuries like that can very easily end a career. in my opinion that fight was over and ended pretty conclusively. it does suck for chael since he was dominating the fight up until that point but it's better to leave healthy and fight another day because the guy obviously has a lot of talent. hopefully paulo can get himself clean and is able to fight up to his ability because those two should be able to put on a great fight

mayhem is a love or hate type of guy. i personally love him. you'll be hard pressed to find a tougher more entertaining fighter in all of mma.

and saku was lucky to leave with his life. it's getting very sad and painfull to watch him take punishment like that.

I know it's close and I can tell I'm in the minority, but maybe that's my homerness coming through. I'll just hold out hope that the next one goes a little bit more in favor of Sonen. I really am wondering what Fihlo's substance of choice was. Anyone know what it is? I had heard rumblings of 'roids but nothing ever confirmed. I don't mind Mayhem, but I agree with Soze that he is totally a love or hate guy. And that elbow gif Leroy? BRUTAL.

Anybody end up watching the EliteXC event last night? I watched it and was left flat, as usual. Liked the Waterman fight a little, enjoyed Noons quick knock out, and LOVED Ninja's domination, and that's about it as far as the card went. Still looking forward to Smith - Lawler II. Kimbo - Rogers is only going to diappoint. Rogers isn't marketable enough to be the face of EliteXC but is good enough to beat Kimbo so it's going to be probably the downfall for them financially---agree or disagree?

I think EliteXC is a joke. They over produce it so much that it takes away from the real value of the fighters.
These companies are expecting to get the same burst that the UFC has gotten in popularity, but they forgot that White and Zuffa waited 5 years and paid 44 million dollars before they started turning profit.

I don't get why more people don't just copy the UFC & WEC model. Put on entertaining fights and people will tune in.
