Not to be picky, but Sweetbreads actually are the thymus gland which is in the neck. Spend a couple of years working as a butcher's assistant and you pick this shit up. Usually poached in milk, then breaded and fried. But, a lot of people eat calf brains too.

All I know is, I asked what the hell is sweetbread at a brazilian restaurant, and they told me it was calf brain... It looked like half a brain too.

Calf brain and sweetbreads look similar, so I could see how people could get them mixed up. It wouldn't surprise me if a brazillian restaraunt also had both of them on the menu at differing times. They're ugly, but supposed to be delicious. I'm pretty picky about where I'll eat my offal meats, and haven't found a place that I'm ready to jump into gland play just yet, haha. Here's a little bit more I found on it from Wiki after I wanted to double check (Yeah, even Eff Jay can be wrong about this shit )

Yeah, they cook up similar from what I gather. I'm not trying to bust your balls or anything, as I said I wouldn't be surprised if they told you that sweet breads were brain. I've definitely heard the Thyroid being labled sweet breads, too.
