Danny Carey and Jimmy Chamberlain made me want to play drums when I was a kid and still do..too bad i play guitar and spend my dough on guitar equipment though.

Neil is one hell of a drummer as well

Thanks for pointing out the spelling error but to answer the question at hand it might not but id kinda does show what his band thought of him to replace him that simply. or are you going to tell me that they knew who he was when they saw him and said "hey that guy plays drums well"

Duh, I am idiot, I knew there was someone I was missing...Will Calhoun from Living Colour. He does mostly studio work now, but man, he was/is amazing.

I guess I always just assumed it was John Bonham...

Ringo? Seriously? Wasn't he basically just a metronome?

Neil Peart it awesome too. Man, Rush would be so awesome if it wasn't for Geddy Lee. His voice pretty much makes me want to claw my eyes out.

Keith Moon is my favorite rock drummer.
Matt Cameron in Soundgarden is number 2 for me.


Moon was crazy, and when ever I hear the song Baba O' Riley(Teenage Waste land) the drums always slay me. His fills were amazing and he could do it on a small kit.

Matt Cameron was using a relatively small kit in Soundagarden and he got a pretty huge sound out of it. I like it when a drummers kit is simple.
