Not really. Honestly, I've thought it's kind of an herbal smell when you're doing the hops. I think it smells more like brewing tea than anything. But it doesn't linger in the air the way Pakistani cooking or even deep frying does. It's less smelly than making chicken strips. I think you'll be OK, especially if you have neighbors cookng Third World delights. If things get out of hand, which they won't, blame it on them. Americans are always quick to believe the worst of foreigners.

I'll have to try that (not the ammonia + bleach combo!). I've been using Goof-Off to remove the glue once I peel the labels but on the Heinies it takes a lot and it's a mess. There's so much glue that it creates a pool of goo. It's ridiculous because there are brands that the labels fall off completely after soaking in water for a few hours and I've never seen their labels peeling off otherwise.
