Oh God, don't get me wrong! I am NOT against meds...for any medical purpose. That's actually quite funny picturing me against meds...if y'all saw my list of meds..you'd probably wonder about me.
I just tend to make sure I mention things like Ultram's not blahblahblah because you'd be surprised how many people know so little about the meds they do take. I work with support groups. And I had one person swear up and down to me a med that she'd been on for years, not sure now which one it was, was NOT a benzodiazipine, when it was. And the thing is, another of her meds was one of those "do not take if you are also taking benzodiazipines or MAOIs without first consulting your doctor." She swore up and down she was right her doc told her that she was...and I explained that no she was somehow misinformed and that we need to know what class of meds we are taking because our docs are not always right. So I tend to make sure if no one else says it, I do. And then the pain med/abuse thing just is a peeve because of how hard it makes it on others.
I'm not knocking meds. I'm actually a huge believer in we have the technology to make the meds and knowledge to do so...so may as well treat what is needing to legitimately be treated. I lament the fact that I'm unable to take anything depression wise if needed. But, given that whole "may cause heightened risk of suicide in some individuals" it's probably best I don't risk it.
As for pot..it's needing to be legalized. It's less addicting than many of the meds we use for many problems, there's less side effects. It's less expensive if you grow your own once the initial expense is laid out. But, I'll be surprised if it gets legalized anytime soon in the US. You'd think the aging boomers would help the legalization efforts because they utilized it. But...many of the boomers I know are more against it now than people I know who are definitely older than those boomers.
Thank god for us bitter sacks of emotionless fucks. We are legendz!

If it ever became legal I would dig down in my mexicanity to access my green thumb. I'd have the freshest herb/tomatoes the farmers market had ever seen.
My luck, my black thumb would prevail and I'd spend more trying to grow enough. Sadly, I've never tried it. Not felt ok mixing it with my current meds..and too the thought I could hide something from the kid...not a chance.

How's Nexium for you? I definitely notice missing it. I'm mainly on it for "prevention of medication induced heartburn (that might lead to GERD, which might lead to Barrett's which could lead to esophageal cancer)." Gee doc, could have just ended with heartburn. I know running out means I eat nothing tasty.
