HAHAHAHA!!!
You NEVER know who you're fucking with...what their background is, what they've done, in short, their life story...
My Dad is 66 years old, 5'6" and weighs 175 lbs. Last year he was at a local "bodega" and ran into a co-worker from where he worked as a supervisor for 24 years (Pharmaceutical manufacturing.) The guy, 35 years old, started in on my Dad as soon as he walked in the door. It seems he was still butt-hurt because several years ago he tried to start a Union and my Dad refused to take sides in the issue. Well, push comes to shove and my Dad winds up fucking this guy up real bad. The guy presses charges and they go to court... judge looks at my Dad and says "So why did this young man beat you up?" My father says "sorry Your Honer but I'm the defendant." Judge asks "how old are you?" ..65...how are you, young man?...35..."You should be ashamed of your self!!! How DARE you waste my time!!? Case dismissed!!" Took less than a minute.
What this little fuck thought was an old man, is a guy who worked a technical job 2nd and 3rd shift while running his own construction company for 20+ years. A guy who got to NYC at the age of 15 with no shoes, no English and 50 dollars in his pocket. A guy who had to fight EVERY DAY because he refused to join the local puertorican gang...fighting hispanics, blacks, the irish, italians,...you name it...all without developing any hatred for anyone and teaching his two boys that everyone deserves respect. 5 years later he's head forman for a construction company in the Bronx who he works for, for the next 15 years. Owns his first home at 22 (a brownstone in Brooklyn.) Owns and sells 3 profitable restaurants while maintaining a full time construction job for the benefits.
My old man is a strong mother fucker who still gets up at 430 am to get ready for his day at whatever project he's working on (although now he only does remodels and additions... no large projects.) He now lives in a sleepy little town in Puerto Rico. If you knock on his door at any time of the day or night and tell him you know me and are my friend he will open the door, make his wife cook for you, offer you a beer and fix up my old bedroom for you to use as long as you want.
My Dad wasn't the perfect Dad you see on t.v. but damn I love him. And still at 42, I strive to be half the father he was and is.
This video made me think of him and to the original poster I say "thank you."
I gonna go call my Dad and say "thank you" to him too.
He're we are at Fenway during a 10 day, 6 game road trip where we also visited Cooperstown. I'm the douche in the middle and even though we aren't Boston fans, we wore the Home teams' cap no matter where we went.
