ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—First, the New York Yankees lost Joba Chamberlain to a shoulder injury. Then, they lost the game.
Marlon Byrd hit a game-winning grand slam with two outs in the ninth inning and the Texas Rangers snapped a 10-game home losing streak to New York with a 9-5 victory Monday night.
Already missing No. 1 starter Chien-Ming Wang and right-hander Phil Hughes from a top-heavy rotation, the Yankees received more bad news when Chamberlain exited with a stiff right shoulder in the fifth.
He’ll return to New York on Tuesday for tests, and manager Joe Girardi said the 22-year-old right-hander probably will miss a turn in the rotation. Anything more than that would be a major blow to the injury-depleted Yankees, who are 2 1/2 games behind Boston for the AL wild-card lead.
Joba Chamberlain had the MRI and is now headed to see Dr. James Andrews.
For those unfamiliar with who James Andrews is, he's pretty much the guy pitchers go to when they need to find out whether or not something is seriously wrong.
In other words, he's been on the Cubs' speed dial the last 6 years. That's not good news for the Yankees............
Or my AL Rookie of the Year prediction

Much obliged for the bump, master Shasta.
I'm sadly a Philly fan....but as you quoted in my post (chock full 'O annoying malfeasances).....I think your Cubs are on track.
Cole Hamels can't get any run support....Moyer (god love him) finally looks like the 83 year vet he is......and Jimmy Rollins has pretty much reverted back to the pre-MVP form that previously tortured our fanbase. I won't even bring up Howard's SO numbers. I hate to say it....but the Tom Gordon loss really hurt too.
I do stroke one out everytime Lidge enters the game though, he makes me that happy.
