I'm sure there is some part of being a russian that makes him want to be the baddest and the biggest. Haven't you seen Rock IV? It's all about being gigantic, Ivan Drago type shit.

Tito definitely is on the way to being a midcarder. He'll win a couple of shitty fights, against low card guys. Work his way up and then get beat down by Fedor. Do it again, get beat down by Couture, Belfort, hell, maybe even Arlovski or Rothwell. The only person who I can think of that he might sneak a win in against Tim Sylvia. God I can't stand that guy.

If you have not seen much or any of Pride events I would recommend you to see as much of those you can get hold of. At least starting at Pride 10. I joined up with Netflix awhile back and saw their whole catalog. Totally different than UFC.

As far as Fedor goes he has fought some cans but every big fight I saw with him he pretty much owned everyone he fought. From getting dropped on his head by Randleman to totally outclassing Cro Cop. Not to mention the beating he gave Nogueira.

If Tito was smart he would call Fedor and apologize for thinking about fighting him. He would get destroyed.

And the best part about Pride is you get to listen to commentary by the great "el guapo"

PRIDE fuckin ruled!!!! i just got shockwave 2006 and PRIDE 34 recently, and can't wait for 33 to get released next month.

Tito is still Tito. Ken Shamrock & Tank Abbott still put asses in the seats and get to head up cards because they are popular legends. Tito can fight for another 5-10 years as a headliner based on what he's done in the past alone. Besides, Tito still has some skill. Since 2000 he has only lost to Couture, Chuck, & Machida with wins over Wandy, Forrest Griffin, Patrick Cote, Vitor Belfort, & three absolute destructions of Shamrock. His game hasn't evolved where he is still a top 5 LHW, but he's still got solid skills and the charisma that made him the one of the most popular fighters of all time. Some of the best UFC #s have come with Tito as the headliner. His star may not be as bright as it once was, but he isn't done by any means.

Leroy: I base all my beliefs on various movies starring action stars from our childhoods. Ere go anything with Sly, Arnold, Bruce and to a lesser extent Jean Claude is taken as gospel round my parts. Man I love Rambo. And what I meant by the Tito is a midcarder statement is more of talent wise. He clearly will put asses in the seats. I don't know much about Fedor and the casual MMA fan doesn't know much about him at all, but I know they'd watch. I'm a sucker for that shit and I'm a total MMA fan. I watched Abbott - Kimbo, I'd still love to watch Shamrock get his ass beat and I'd pay money to watch Severn's mustache take on anyone, let alone the actual "Beast"!

Side note, and definitely correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't the Tito - Forrest match a decision and a pretty close one @ that? I could be totally wrong but I think I remember watching that one and thinking that Tito's legacy beat Forrest just as much as Tito actually did. Definitely could be wrong.

it was a very close split decision. if i was scoring the fight i actually would have had it a draw. tito dominated the first round to the point where i felt it was a 10-8. the next two rounds tito gassed a bit which allowed forrest to get the slight edge. it really was a close fight that could have gone either way. even though he lost forrest gained a lot of credibility with that fight.
